Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.
I love this time of year in South Florida because it’s food planting time!
Yes, I love food. And yes, I love to grow my own food.
Stupid, I know, but there’s something magical (at least for me) about being able to pick my own tomatoes and then eat or cook them. (Very few tomatoes actually make it into the house—my mouth claims domain).
Last weekend we planted out tomatoes, green peppers (a first-time grow), kale, and loads of different herbs. Guess what? Some of the tomatoes have flowers already. Sooo thrilled. Here are my very proud mama plant pics:
Hope all Southern gardeners are as thrilled as I am!
