Cupid’s Arrow is Released! Yay!

cupids_arrow

It’s a great Monday morning. Not only am I fully recovered from bouts with the cold AND (could the man up there have been more generous?) a stomach bug, but I can finally announce that’s Cupid’s Arrow is not only released but available!

Not only that, but today Cupid’s Arrow is featured at Cover Reveals *evil grin*. How’s that for perfect promo planning? Here’s the link: http://coverreveals.blogspot.com/

Here’s the cover and tag line followed by a little teaser.

Stephanie and Eli go toe to toe on every project, but the attraction is irresistible. When a theft occurs – is it a love or an alibi?

Excerpt:

From the second he’d set sight on Stephanie his one goal had been to take her off the market. Permanently. He hated it when another man touched her, even Ignatius.

The room smelled of her, all gingery and spicy. He glimpsed a wicked lacy red thong peeking out of her half closed carry-on and stifled a frustrated howl as images of him licking a trail around the flower-trimmed panties fogged his lust-crazed brain.

“Sorry about that. My phone’s been zinging all morning.” She tucked the cell into a denim purse and flashed him her signature upturned-at-the-corners smile. “First Iggy, then Jacques, and then Christine.”

Eli pressed his lips together. Had she texted him before speaking with Iggy and Jacques? Was he last or first on her list?

“Are we having breakfast in the hotel?” She fiddled with the brass latch on the bag.

“I arranged for room service. Here.” He thrust the flowers at her. “What did Dardin want?”

“To let me know he’s put a trace on the missing DVD.” She sniffed the peach tipped roses. “Thanks for the flowers.”

The buzzer rang and he stomped his way to the door not liking the fact that Dardin had Stephanie’s cell number one bit. “That’s probably breakfast. I ordered you a ham, mushroom, and triple cheese omelet with bacon, sausages, hash browns, and rye toast.”

She stared at him the whole time the waiter fussed with the food cart. Those slanted eyes peeped at him over the bunch of roses she still smelled. The second the door clicked shut, she asked, “How’d you know?”

“You eat breakfast in the cafeteria every morning. It’s Tuesday.” For someone whose creativity scaled the heights, Stephanie had repetitive eating habits.

Color ebbed and flowed across her cheeks. “You noticed what I eat?”

“I notice everything about you. You take your coffee with two packets of cream. You like fizzy ginger pop, double bacon cheeseburgers with the works, and extra pickles.” He couldn’t stand it anymore, ate up the distance between them, and hauled her tight against him. He nuzzled her neck and sighed. “You changed your shampoo a month and a half ago. I like the scent of this one better. Kinda gingery.”

She pressed her palms to his chest, tilted her head back, and gazed at him, mouth slightly agape.

He took advantage immediately and kissed her, greedy to taste her again. He savored the minty heat of her and sipped along the plump seam of her lips. “Mornin’ honey. I’ve been chomping at the bit since dawn our time.”

She blinked a couple of times. “You should’ve texted me. I’ve been up since then too.”

Immediately he pictured her all sleepy and warm and cozy. His dick leaked and he had to clench his groin muscles and choke back a groan. Waking Stephanie up in myriad depraved scenarios had preoccupied him most of the morning.

Get a grip. Breakfast.

“Eli, you’re crushing the roses.” She nudged his shoulder.

He let her go in stages, forcing his arms away from her narrow waist, teasing both eyebrows with tiny kisses before blowing out a long breath, and pulling a chair close to the cart. “My lady, your meal awaits. I told them to leave the vase empty.”

The smile she threw him rivaled the brightest sun he’d ever seen. “You thought of everything.”

Eli watched her lithe fingers arrange the flowers in the crystal vase he’d ordered, and shifted the chair under the table after she sat down.

Instead of sitting opposite her, Eli situated himself right next to her. He lifted the silver domes one by one and took a deep inhale. “Nothing like the smell of bacon.”

“I know what you mean. After I saw Babe for the first time, I vowed that I’d never eat bacon again. That lasted about a day. It was the one aroma that made me hungry even during the chemo.” All the color drained out from her cheeks and she clamped her hands over her face.

“Chemo?” Eli gaped at her. The peach in her cheeks paled. All the happy animation she always radiated dissolved. Too stunned to absorb the notion behind her declaration, he repeated, “Chemo?”

Hope you enjoyed.

May Monday Meet you Merry!

Ouch. Couldn’t help it. I’ve been alliterating all weekend.

Starting 2014 with a Bang!

That_Pearly_Drop-Jianne_Carlo-500x800What a great way to start 2014—check out these terrific reviews for That Pearly Drop:

logo - nowl top pickFrom Night Owl Reviews by Hitherandthee:

Woohoo! What a fun and outrageous book! I just finished reading That Pearly Drop by Jianne Carlo, and I loved every second of this novel. The story progressed so fast and rolled so seamlessly together that it was easy to jump from one scene to another, and from one century to another. The characters are delightful and so sinfully enchanting, they will most assuredly leave a reader with some exceedingly steamy nights. This book certainly has plenty of spice. One caveat I will say, this book is not for the young readers. But for a more mature reader seeking lots of adventure, scorching hot romance, and more than enough devilishly hot men to tempt a lady? This is the book for them.

It’s Halloween Night 2013. Emma Perez is in Wales, searching out her family history. What she doesn’t expect the lightning storm that comes up, strikes her, and sends her back to 1763! When she wakes up, very disoriented, she finds herself in what seems to be an abandoned inn, with no one but a dead body. She searches the body, finding a letter of recommendation for a Diana Manley, and a ticket to Wye Castle. Having no other choice, she assumes the murdered girl’s identity and takes the ticket and heads to Wye Castle to become a governess. Upon her arrival there, she finds the master of the castle, Ian Wye, in a rather compromising position. Emma just can’t forget the sight of her now boss and his endowments when aroused. But Ian has found out something about Emma. She is his mate, and she’s in trouble. As two worlds and two centuries collide, can Ian save Emma and his niece, the adorable Fiona? Will Emma decide to stay in the past or return to her own time? Come along on a grand adventure and see for yourself. It’s an adventure not to be missed.

When this book was first presented to me I had to snicker at the title. I asked myself “is it really about that “pearly drop”?” I truly enjoyed this novel and found it to be a fun read.

The dynamic between Ian and Emma is beautiful. He is willing to give his heart and Emma’s uncertainty brings out a vulnerability that is not often shown in such a strong male character. He proves his point well when showing Emma what her hesitance does to him (you might want to throw the book against the wall for a moment) but when push comes to shove, he will risk everything to show her they are fated, and that Emma’s past is not at all what she thinks it is. She is slowly realizing that her entire future may indeed lie in the past, and she and Ian were destined to be with one another even if across time.

Branded by Étaín, The Beasts of Bärvik Book One Releases!

Branded_by_Etain-Jianne_Carlo-banner468x60Release day for a new book is both exhilarating and downright terrifying for me. My poor gray matter’s a-buzz with stinging questions and worry.

Will readers like it? OMG – are the reviewers going to trash it? Except for the copy my mom always buys, will anyone fork out the $ to purchase it?

Today’s no different from any of my other release days. My stomach’s rioting and all I can gulp down is way too much coffee.

At any rate, Branded by Étaín is now available from the regular suspects, but here are the three main links, the book blurb, cover, and another excerpt:

Branded_by_Etain-Jianne_Carlo-200x320Blurb:

Can a princess tame a beast?

Princess Étaín of Caul Carlinne remains unsullied by her violent past. When she chooses Brand of Bärvik as her mate, has she brought havoc and destruction to her people?

Excerpt – Branded by Étaín, The Beasts of Bärvik Book One:

Étaín interrupted Margie’s third iteration of what to expect when Brand consummated their marriage. She had not a shred of worry that the act would be anything but wondrous. “Be done with it, Margie. My head fair throbs with thoughts of peckers, stones, pearls, and quims. I trust in Brand. Did he not say he would cherish me when Da asked? I am a truthsayer. He spoke truly.”

“He is a very large man.” Margie picked up a tortoise shell horsehair brush and stroked Étaín’s springy curls.

“So is your Darren.”

“I am twice your height and weight. ’Tis easier for a woman like me to accommodate a large pecker. You must not overexcite him, otherwise he will be rough with you.”

“How could I overexcite him?” The mere sight of him made her woman parts moisten. Did the same happen with men?

“Do not caress his willy and touch not his balls.”

“Willy? Balls?” ’Twas a new language to be learned for this bedsport.

“Pecker, stones. Men have scores of names for their parts. Some e’en name them. Darren says his brother, Padraig, calls his prick ‘Olympus.’”

Étaín’s heart skipped a few beats when the sound of stomping feet reached her ears. “Did you hear that?”

“Aye. They approach. Quick, under the sheets. I will leave after the last man departs.” Margie drew the linen covers to right under Étaín’s chin and gave her a quick hug.

The doors slammed open, and the men of Caul Cairlinne, carrying a naked Brand above their heads, tramped into the room roaring the limerick Prick Her Well. The words ricocheted around the chamber:

Prick her well,

And her belly will swell,

Fill her with your seed,

And ease your need,

Make her see stars,

And sons be your rewards

The singing faded into the background when the men dumped Brand onto the other side of the bed.

I hope you enjoyed, and, if you did – Tweet it, FB it for me!

That Pearly Drop is OUT!

So doing the Snoopy Dance!!! That Pearly Drop is out – and the cover got a bit of an upgrade – here it is (had to show off a bit)

Tag Line:That_Pearly_Drop-Jianne_Carlo-200x320

What do the hounds of hell, time travel, a murdered girl, a coach ticket to Wye Castle, and a governess’ letter of employment have to do with waking up in 1763, the mate of wolf-shifter, Ian, the Earl of Wye? Emma’s about to find out.

Blurb:

Emma knows time travel’s impossible. So, the only other explanation for her going to sleep on Halloween night in 2013 and waking up in Wales in the year 1763 is that she’s insane. There’s a murdered girl, a coach ticket to Wye Castle, and a letter of employment to be governess to the Earl of Wye’s daughter. What’s a gal to do but go with the flow?
Wolf-shifter Ian, Earl of Wye, recognizes Emma as his mate instantly and senses she’s in danger. He knows Emma’s harboring a deep, dark secret. But, no matter what he does, she won’t confide in him. Then he finds Emma wounded and rambling about nine white gorgons who attacked her. The hounds of hell are Ian’s nemeses, and the fact they’ve reappeared in the mortal world after centuries of banishment can only mean one thing…

By Midnight Attic Reader Five stars

I loved Ian and all that was involved in his wolf-shifter ways. The Murphy’s Time-Travel Laws prefacing each chapter were hilarious, especially coupled with Emma’s fumbling to explain her “colonial idioms” and I loved her nicknames for people. I hope to see more of the C-men and I suspect we will see more of Emma’s friends from the future (present?). Great read and I look forward to reading the next installment!

Five stars Oct 31, 2013 Glenda Bettin rated it 5 of 5 stars –

Wow what can I say about this book, I LOVED IT. If I could, I would give it 10 stars, COULD NOT put it down, had me at chapter 1. I loved the mouth on Emma, fav part, just because you’re Catholic, doesn’t mean you can’t talk like a truck driver, OMG that is so ME.

Five stars Nov 04, 2013 Sharla rated it 5 of 5 stars –

I thoroughly enjoyed That Pearly Drop! It had everything I could hope for in a book – HOT sex, humor, angst, and more HOT sex!

I’m having a great day! Hope you are too!

That Pearly Drop – How a Title is Born!

That_Pearly_Drop-Jianne_Carlo-200x320So I’m sharing excerpts from Pearly (how my editor and I talk about the book) this week, and I figured the reason for the title should somehow be showcased- so here goes::

Murphy’s Time-Travel Law: Time travel is impossible—until it happens.

I jog-walk down the eerie, shadowed corridor muttering, “You can do this. You can. You’ve faced down oilmen, riggers, engineers. You have five older brothers.”
Door number one goes by.
“You’re from the twenty-first century. You graduated summa cum laude with a double major and a minor.” I pass door number two.
My footsteps slow of their own accord.
I chew the insides of my cheeks and force myself to continue.

“Go big or go home.”
Decision made, I stop in front of door number three, which stands slightly ajar. Raising my hand to knock on the solid wood, I shift and my boot catches on the too-long hem of Diana’s dress.
I snatch at the frame and manage to right myself.
My jaw drops at the scene revealed by the half-open door.
Behind a large, burnished desk stands a man who is the epitome of the Viking god Thor. Massive shoulders, chiseled pectorals, arms a logger would envy, a long, flowing, golden mane, and the profile of an immortal deity. He wears not a stitch of clothing, and the enormous erection he sports mesmerizes me. I can’t drag my eyes from his huge, engorged penis.
He doesn’t notice me, and I understand why when my gaze drops.
A half-naked woman lies sprawled on the top of the desk, which is located parallel to the far wall instead of fronting the doorway. She’s angled so I can see the profile of her face and body clearly. Her head’s half-resting on one elbow and her chin’s tilted back, exposing a slender, graceful neck.
I catch a glimpse of a blue pendant dangling from a thick-linked gold chain hanging to one side. A mane of glossy ringlets are spread in a perfect array around her head and shoulders.
She’s wearing a thin, transparent nightgown, which is scrunched above her waist. Her legs hang down from the desk, and a triangle of pale blonde curls at the apex of her thighs shimmers in the dancing flames of the candles attached to sconces on the opposite wall.
He cups himself.
Fascinated, I follow his tanned fingers as he strokes back his foreskin to reveal the reddened head of his penis.
A heated paralysis strangles my brain. I lick my lips when a thick, pearly drop oozes from the glistening slit in the center of the crown of his cock.
Lightning crackles. Thunder booms.
His head whips around and our stares collide.

Hope you enjoyed!

Cheers,

Jianne
