I is for Indigo

APRIL-2013-CALENDAR-001I’m so excited to join in the A to Z blog hop!!! Truly, I regard it as a terrific challenge and a wonderful kick-start to my new website. My topic for the entire 26 days will be romance, particularly erotic romance. My structure will be as follows: I am going to first list the pertinent words for the day and then discuss one of them in alphabetical order, of course.

I: Indigo, Intercourse, inflame, and incite.

The above are my list of sexy and/or erotic and/or romantic I words. Feel free to chime in with your own!

For the eighth day of the A to Z blog hop challenge – I choose the word Indigo. Now I know the word is a color and how can a color be sexy or romantic? To me indigo is a mood, a sultry tropical isle surrounded by clear blue waters and flawless diamond bright sand. It’s a setting, a frame for a story.

Indigo: Any of various shrubs or herbs of the genus Indigofera in the pea family, having odd-pinnate leaves and usually red or purple flowers in axillary racemes, A blue dye obtained from these plants or produced synthetically

G is for Grenade & Genicon

APRIL-2013-CALENDAR-001I’m so excited to join in the A to Z blog hop!!! Truly, I regard it as a terrific challenge and a wonderful kick-start to my new website. My topic for the entire 26 days will be romance, particularly erotic romance. My structure will be as follows: I am going to first list the pertinent words for the day and then discuss one of them in alphabetical order , of course.

G: genicon, g-spot, and grenade.

The above are my list of sexy and/or erotic and/or romantic G words. Feel free to chime in with your own!

For the seventh day of the A to Z blog hop challenge – I choose the words genicon and grenade – simply because I haven’t a clue as to what they mean or why they’re considered sexy.

Genicon: A genicon is a fantasy sexual partner who is envisaged or invoked while having sex with someone else.

Grenade: The ugly girl with a cute friend. Your buddie has to jump on the grenade to save the team. AKA. wingman.

I find both of these words insulting. What do you think?

F is for Fantasy

APRIL-2013-CALENDAR-001I’m so excited to join in the A to Z blog hop!!! Truly, I regard it as a terrific challenge and a wonderful kick-start to my new website. My topic for the entire 26 days will be romance, particularly erotic romance. My structure will be as follows: I am going to first list the pertinent words for the day and then discuss one of them in alphabetical order , of course.

F: fickle, fantasy, fellatio, f**k, and fuzzy pickle.

The above are my list of sexy and/or erotic and/or romantic F words. Feel free to chime in with your own!

For the sixth day of the A to Z blog hop challenge – I choose the word fantasy.

Fantasy: The faculty or activity of imagining things that are impossible or improbable.

I love this word and its definition because we human beings spend much of our time on this earth struggling to live out our fantasies, and you know what—we’re all the better for it.

Everyone’s fantasy is different and, as the saying goes, that’s what makes the world go around. I have several and each one surges or abates depending upon what’s happening in my life. One abiding fantasy is to eat my way around the world and, lord, would I love that one to come true.

The thing about fantasies though, is that there are some you really don’t want to live out. That’s why, in my opinion, erotic romances about ménages are so popular. Women like the idea, but they’d prefer to read about it than to actually experience it.

What do you think?

NOLA Stars Conference

What fun I had at the NOLA Stars conference! Not only did I have almost 72 hours of uninterrupted gossip and brainstorming time with my good friend, author Lynn Lorenz, but I also met a whole ton of new authors and the charming and entirely hilarious Barbara Vey.

Barbara Vey

For those of you who don’t know Barbara Vey blogs about romance for Publisher’s Weekly – http://barbaravey.com/books/. Barbara’s workshop had us in tears we laughed so hard, particularly when she spoke of how the blog started and the possible names for the blog – The Nipple Notes, The Breast of Barbara, The Vagina Vignettes – OMG, we had to hold our sides.

I also had the pleasure of meeting two amazing authors, Mandy Harbin and Parker Kincade.

Parker recently released her first novel, One Night Stand, and I hope to devour this book soon! 15841797

Isn’t the cover scrumptious?

The lovely Mandy Harbin has a few books under her belt and is remarkably diverse with her writing – and her website’s intriguing – check Mandy out at: www.mandyharbin.com

We had lunch with Kerri-Leigh Grady, the Editorial Director of Flirt and Ever After at Entangled Publishing and Winne Griggs of the NOLA chapter, the conference chair, and a terrific host.

The Becca Ladies

Not only did I meet a bunch of wonderful, talented women, but I also managed, thanks to Lynn, to satisfy my crawfish cravings! Yep, four meals in three days – a crawfish boil, crawfish stew, crawfish etouffee, and crawfish pie!!! We ate twice at Becca’s Restaurant and these lovely ladies and Lynn helped me decide what to eat.

But the best part of the conference was the three-hour drive with Lynn Lorenz from Houston to Shreveport and back. Nothing more wonderful than spending time with a good friend. IMG_0936[1]

The only thing that would’ve made it better was if the fabulous Georgia Woods, who started the two of us on our writing careers and friendship, had been with us – we missed you Georgia!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Cheers,

Jianne
